Trails to Wellbeing - Official Launch

Boundless Trails CIC is proud to launch Trails to Wellbeing, a new referral-only mountain biking programme designed to support mental health and wellbeing here in Moray.

What is Trails to Wellbeing?

Trails to Wellbeing uses the therapeutic benefits of mountain biking in nature to help people experiencing challenges such as anxiety, low mood, and social isolation. The sessions are:

  • Free of charge (up to 6 sessions per person)

  • Open to individuals aged 12+

  • Run in small groups (4–6 people) or on a 1:1 basis

  • Inclusive, trauma-aware, and supportive

  • Led by a qualified Trail Therapy Practitioner, MTB Coach, and Mental Health First Aider

  • All equipment, including helmets and e-bikes, is provided (if needed).

How it Works

Each referral includes up to 6 free sessions, but these are always tailored to the individual.

For some, that might mean learning new mountain biking skills, building confidence, or setting personal goals.

For others, it might simply be about enjoying time outdoors, having a chat, and feeling connected.

After completing the 6 sessions, participants are encouraged to continue their journey by joining our Active Recovery Moray group rides or exploring other local opportunities to stay active and connected.

Referral Pathways

This is a referral-only programme.

We are proud to confirm that our first referral pathway is live through Maryhill Practice in Elgin. Individuals registered with Maryhill can be referred by their GP or Link Worker to take part in the programme.

Why Trails to Wellbeing?

For many people, the outdoors offers a safe, restorative environment. Combining time in nature, gentle physical challenge, and peer support, mountain biking provides a powerful way to build confidence, connection, and resilience.

Looking Ahead

This partnership with Maryhill Practice is just the beginning. Our aim is to expand referral pathways with GP practices and social prescribing teams across Moray, making Trails to Wellbeing accessible to more people in the community.
